Frequently asked questions
What is microneedling and how does it work?
Small tiny needles create micro-channels in the skin to boost natural collagen and help with texture, fine lines, scars or uneven skin
How many sessions will I need and how quickly will I see results?
Often a course of 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart gives best benefit. Some results appear in days, full effect in weeks
Will it hurt / what’s the discomfort like?
Most clients describe it as a mild, prickling sensation. We apply a topical numbing cream if needed beforehand to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
What after-care should I know about?
Avoid make-up, heavy sweating, sunbeds, strong actives for at least 48 h. Use SPF, gentle skincare.
What skin concerns does it help with?
Acne scar marks, pigmentation, fine lines, uneven tone, tired skin. If you look in the mirror thinking “my skin just needs a reset” this could be it.
Is it safe for everyone / what about active skin issues?
Most skin types can have it, but if you’ve got active outbreaks, are pregnant, or using certain medications we’ll have a consultation whether it’s right for you.
Microneedling
Deep Cleansing Facial
What does a deep-cleansing facial do?
It removes oil, dirt and blackheads while reducing pore size and re-energising dull skin — ideal if you’ve been thinking “my skin just needs a proper clean-out."
Can oily or acne-prone skin have this facial?
Yes — it’s designed to clear clogged pores and rebalance sebum, leaving skin smoother and calmer.
Is there any downtime?
Hardly. You might have a little pinkness that fades fast. You’ll leave glowing, not red.
What should I avoid before and after?
Avoid strong exfoliants, sunbeds or peels a few days either side. Post-facial, keep make-up light for 24 hours and always apply SPF.
How often should I have one?
Every 4–6 weeks for ongoing skin maintenance, or as a one-off before special occasions.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Absolutely — many clients add LED therapy, masks or mild exfoliation for even better results.
Dermaplaning
What is dermaplaning?
A gentle exfoliation using a sterile blade to remove dead cells and peach-fuzz for instantly smoother, brighter skin.
How often should I book dermaplaning?
Every 3–4 weeks keeps your complexion glass-smooth.
Does hair grow back thicker?
No — vellus hair (Peach Fuzz) grows back the same as before. That’s a myth!
Can I wear make-up afterwards?
You can, but many clients prefer to let their skin breathe for a day — your foundation will glide on beautifully the next morning.
Is it safe for all skin types including sensitive skin?
Mostly yes. We’ll check for active acne or conditions like rosacea before treatment. For sensitive skin, it can be excellent when performed by a trained professional. For active, inflamed acne, it's best to postpone to avoid irritation or nicking the blemishes, as the blade can spread bacteria.
Can I dermaplane at home, or should I see a professional?
While at-home tools exist, a professional treatment is highly recommended for safety and efficacy. A trained therapist ensures a sterile, precise technique and can properly prepare the skin, minimizing the risk of nicks, irritation, or infection
Brow & Lash Treatments
Which is better – eyebrow waxing or threading?
Threading gives ultra-precise shape and suits sensitive skin, while waxing is faster for thicker growth. We’ll help you choose the best for your face shape.
What exactly is brow lamination?
It’s a gentle perm for your brows that sets every hair in the ideal direction, giving a full, brushed-up look. It’s safe, patch-tested, and customised for you.
Will my skin go red after?
A little pinkness is normal and fades within minutes. We always apply soothing lotion and give after-care advice so you can pop straight back out in Tamworth looking groomed.
Will a lash lift look fake?
Not at all. It simply lifts your natural lashes from the root — no extensions, no heaviness — just brighter eyes and less daily mascara.
How long do tint, lamination or lash-lift results last?
Eyebrow tint and lamination keep your brows sleek for 4–6 weeks. Lash lifts hold their curl up to 8 weeks — perfect if you love “wake-up-and-go” mornings.
What should I avoid after my brow or lash appointment?
Skip saunas, steam rooms, or heavy make-up for 24 hours so the tint and lamination bond fully.
Can I still have treatments if I use retinol or have sensitive skin?
Yes, we’ll discuss your skincare first. We may suggest pausing active creams 24–48 hours before tint or lamination for comfort and best results.
Can I combine waxing/threading with tinting or lamination?
Yes — most clients do. We tidy first, then tint or laminate for the complete finish.
Can you fix over-plucked or uneven brows?
Definitely — we’ll map and reshape them carefully while encouraging regrowth where needed.
Will eyebrow tint or lamination damage my natural brows?
Not at all when done professionally. At Twinz Beauty Tamworth we use gentle, vegan-friendly formulas designed for brows. Your natural hairs stay healthy and nourished — no dryness or breakage — especially when you follow our simple after-care tips.
How often should I book brow and lash treatments?
Every 4–6 weeks keeps shape, tint and lift at their best.
Can I still wear make-up or use mascara after my lash lift or tint?
Yes, but wait 24 hours after your treatment so the lift and colour can fully set. Most clients say they skip mascara completely for weeks because their lashes already look naturally darker and curled from the moment they wake up.
Body & Facial Waxing
Which areas do you wax?
Everything from brows to full body, including Hollywood and Brazilian waxing in Tamworth.
What should I do before/after waxing?
Exfoliate gently the day before, then avoid heat, tight clothes or workouts for 24 hours.
Does waxing hurt?
You’ll feel a quick sting, but it’s over fast. Regular waxing makes regrowth softer.
How often should I wax?
Every 4–6 weeks keeps skin silky and hair finer over time.
How long should my hair be?
Around 3–5 mm (2–3 weeks growth) for best grip and smooth results.
Is it OK if I’m shy about intimate waxing?
Completely — we’re discreet, gentle, professional, and explain everything step-by-step.
Massage Therapies
What massages do you offer?
Relaxing Swedish, deep-tissue, stick-massage and cupping therapy — ideal if you’ve been thinking “my back’s had enough.
Will I feel sore afterwards?
Hardly ever. Maybe mild tenderness after very deep work.
How long are sessions?
30- or 60-minute treatments tailored to your stress points or the whole body for de-stressing and recharging!
Can I book if I’m pregnant or have medical issues?
Yes, with a quick consultation first — we adapt the pressure and position safely.
What should I wear / expect?
Loose clothing; you’re draped the whole time for comfort and privacy.
How do I know which massage is best for me?
If you’re unsure whether you need relaxation or deep-tissue work, don’t worry — we’ll chat before your treatment. We’ll ask about tension, sleep, and daily posture, then tailor the massage to what your body actually needs. Most Tamworth clients say it’s the best stress relief they’ve had all week.
